OAKLAND
Oakland is a vibrant east bay city with many upscale neighborhoods, beautiful outdoor areas, and a sophisticated, professional crowd.
Residents enjoy art and culture, outdoor activities such as hiking and biking in the many parks, and a revolutionary food and cocktail scene – all in weather sunnier and warmer than San Francisco.
Below are descriptions of the areas where Patty focuses most often.
Piedmont
Piedmont is a small, wealthy, separate city located in the center of Oakland. It is upscale and elegant, with a strong community feel. Nearby are excellent restaurants, shops, and activities. The public schools in Piedmont are highly rated, some of the best in the United States, making the area very desirable for families. It’s considered to be one of the best places to live in California.
Rockridge
Rockridge is known for its fine dining and eclectic restaurant scene. Because of its storybook Craftsman cottages with wood detail, hardwood floors and vintage architecture, Rockridge is extremely popular. All within walking distance of BART.

Upper Rockridge
Just up the hill from Rockridge, it offers winding streets, sweeping views and impressive architecture in various architectural styles. A quiet and prestigious place to live.
Temescal
This area is adjacent to Rockridge / College Avenue. It has transformed over the years to a very cool and hip place to live. Adorable Bungalow houses built from the 1920 though the 1940s with lots of great restaurants nearby. At a lower price point than Rockridge, it’s a very fun, sought-after area. Close to freeways and BART.
NOBE

This area has exploded with new occupants from San Francisco and beyond. The surrounding area is changing rapidly, bungalows are being remodeled, and prices are going up.
